While Citroen chose a Swiss theme to showcase the customizing potential of the new C1 city car, Peugeot has gifted the new 108 with some… tattoos.

The new 108 Tattoo Concept unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show was done in collaboration with tattoo artist Xoil. The car was first adorned with a golden copper paint finish, similar to the color of flesh. Using that as background, Xoil applied a combination of traditional and contemporary Peugeot motifs.

There’s also the company’s logo from 1920 on the driver’s door, the proud and conquering Lion on the roof, as well as different forms and geometric lines. The bonnet covered in leather also wears a tattoo, while the interior features leather as well, particularly on the dashboard. The seats and floor carpet combine leather and woven wool.

Peugeot says the 108 Tattoo Concept explores the possibility of creating a unique personalized vehicle, one that cannot be reproduced. The car also incorporates new materials and processes that may be used in the future. For instance, the leather on the bonnet comes from a vegetable tanning process that retains the look and feel of each skin.
