It’s good to be a Porsche employee these days, as the sports car manufacturer posts record sales and profits year after year. Since 2013 was the most successful year in the company’s history, employees will receive a voluntary special payment of up to €8,200 (about $11,400) gross.

The special payment includes two parts: €7,600 will be paid based on the positive operating result and for the special achievement on the part of the employees in the 2013 business year, while €600 will be paid as a special contribution to the Porsche VarioRente (company pension) or to personal pension plans.

The special payment for 2013 will be handed out to about 15,000 employees of Porsche AG, adjusted for individual working hours and period of employment.

“The people behind the company are the guarantee that Porsche stays on course and will also set standards in the automotive sector in future,” said Matthias Müller, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG.

“That’s absolutely fantastic. And the great thing is that all employees in Germany subject to pay agreements will get it, regardless of whether they work on a production line, in an office or as engineers. But we’re not getting it for nothing. The employees have earned it through their extraordinary performance, flexibility and increased productivity,” said Uwe Hück, Chairman of the Joint Works Council.

In 2013 Porsche increased its deliveries by around 15 percent compared to 2012 and its sales by three percent and operating result by six percent.
