The Hyundai ix25 has an almost insurmountable job ahead of it, as it awaits to enter the very competitive market sector of the Nissan Juke, Peugeot 2008, Renault Captur or the upcoming VW Taigun. Now, it’s rather sober-looking interior has been (re-)revealed, courtesy of low-res shots from China.

It looks really grown up, with more than a hint of Teutonic spirit infused right in. Putting it alongside the interior of the larger (and more flamboyant) ix35 or the even grander Santa Fe the increased emphasis on simplicity and a functional-looking controls layout is obvious.

There’s also an exterior shot of the ix25 floating about the web, though it has not been confirmed as the real thing yet. Looks-wise, the (blue) car in the photo looks restrained enough to match the interior, so it’s credible.

The car will make its official debut at the Beijing auto show towards the end of the month.
