Let’s get one things straight: the Lykan Hypersport is not worth what its makers are asking for it. Yes, it’s distinctive looking, it comes from an ambitious new Lebanese company that has everything to prove, plus it has a unique engine. However, as long as manufacturers like Pagani are out there, there really is no contest.

That’s not to say seeing one of these won’t be an event, though it’s pretty clear that you either have to travel to Monaco or Dubai in order to do so.

Marchettino was recently in Monaco, and he managed to record what is probably the most complete video of the car in the wild so far. We even hear its 3.7-liter flat-six twin-turbo engine revved under load for the first time, and it doesn’t sound bad at all.

The unit thrums like any smooth force-fed six-pot, though it does also come with all the advantages we normally associate with boxer engines (primarily the lowering of the center of gravity).
