Mercedes-Benz  is reportedly working on a mid-way performance version for the C-Class range. The idea is for it to slot in between the top-spec AMG models and others lower down in the range. Expected to be called the C450 AMG Sport, it will follow in a long line of similarly-positioned models from other manufacturers, called M Sport, F-Sport, V-Sport and so on…

The rumored C450 would get its oomph from a twin-turbo V6 that Autocar believes will put out 367 hp. Future owners will be given the choice to opt for either rear- or all-wheel drive, though it was not mentioned what kind of gearbox it would use.

As you’d expect, its body would also feature a subtle sporty makeover that would make it more special than standard C-Class models, but less so than the upcoming AMG.
