Peugeot reportedly sent an official photo and preliminary information of its upcoming Beijing Auto Show sports sedan concept to the French press on Monday by mistake – or so the company claims.

The four-door coupe-style concept is named Exalt and is said to be “from the same lineage” as Peugeot’s stunning Onyx supercar concept from 2012.

In the press statement, the French firm noted that the body is formed by the “association of crude steel and an efficient textile, Shark Skin, inspired by the structure of shark skin”, apparently referring to the concept car’s rear end, which sounds similar to the tech used by BMW on its shape-shifting GINA Concept.

Under the hood, the sharkp-looking study sports a “Hybrid4” powertrain pairing a gasoline engine to an electric motor for a combined system output of 340-horses.

Further info on the car is expected to be released later this week.
