Subaru Teases Mystery WRX STI with a Massive Aqua Blue Rear Wing for NY Show

Just moments ago, Subaru shared the above picture through its social media pages with the caption, “See you at the New York International Auto Show, which kicks off for the press on Wednesday, April 16.

The photo suggests that it’s the newly launched 2015 WRX STI sedan, but with an aqua-blue painted rear wing with an added carbon fiber inner spoiler, and a carbon fiber trunk with a spoiler lip.

We don’t have any information on the car at this point, but we will be on the lookout and bring you up to date as soon as we find out.

Unlike the 2015 WRX that sports a new 2.0-liter turbocharged engine delivering 268hp and 258 lb-ft, the latest interpretation of the WRX STI sedan retains the 2.5-liter turbocharged boxer unit that churns out 305hp at 6,000 rpm and 290 lb.-ft. at 4,000 rpm.
