Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS that Won 2014 Villa D'Este is a Must See

It’s as if the internet is freshly out of photos showing the 1931 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS, with bodywork by Aprile, the car that won top honors at this year’s Villa D’Este Concorso d’Eleganza. It’s such an amazing example of art-inspired 1930s streamlining that it’s a pity it’s not world famous, with a poster on every other 8 year-old’s wall… and your desktop.

It didn’t always look like this, though, going through the first seven years of its life (1931 to 1938) looking like the more mundane (if it can be called that) regular Alfa 6Cs.

The car underwent a full restoration in 2008, and if my Italian is not rusty, says the current owner had to make some modifications to the car. It (probably) refers to improper additions it received over the years, and these were taken off during the refurbishment process. Apparently, it had non-original side steps and incorrect doors.

But enough reading. Scroll down and check it out below.
