We apperciated the BMW X5 when we recently drove it, but if there was one thing we felt it didn’t need any more of was flashiness. That’s why this recently revealed exterior makeover by Hamann is pretty much spot on, since it it’s not so overtly in your face as some of their other styling kits.

The look is achieved through the use of blacked out everything or naked carbon, lower (and different) front and rear bumpers, lower, more aggressive side skirts and a rear spoiler.

Being a Hamann job, you’re given wide variety of wheel options, and you don’t necessarily have to stick to the ones you see on the car pictured below – those Alpina lookalikes are pretty nice, though.

Obviously, the engine can be fettled too, at the customer’s request. First thing they do is remap the ECU, which given the turbocharged nature of all the available powerplants will definitely have an immediate impact on the performance.

The xDrive30d is boosted from 258 hp and 560 Nm to 295 hp and 605 Nm – it was already spritely off the line, even in stock form.
