The BAC Mono is a no-compromise car, dedicated to hardcore auto enthusiasts who want a racecar that is legal to drive on public roads. Boasting a power-to-weight ratio similar to the Bugatti Veyron, the Mono is the street-legal equivalent of a Formula 3 racer.

Powered by a naturally aspirated 2.3-liter Cosworth engine producing 280 horsepower, the single-seater is capable of mind-blowing performance. It sprints from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.8 seconds, from 0 to 100 mph (161 km/h) in 6.7 seconds and maxes out at 170 mph (274 km/h).

After visiting BAC earlier this year, XCAR got another excuse to get close to the Mono and drive it. The reviewer was absolutely stunned by the raw, unfiltered experience provided by the BAC Mono and by the fact that one cannot possibly get nowhere near the limits of the car unless he or she is a top-class professional racing driver.
