Many people love Subaru’s commitment to boxer engines and sporty cars with advanced all-wheel drive systems, but when the talk turns to design, the same folks usually do the Hank Hill-style neck rubbing move – with one possible exception: the 1991-1996 SVX Coupe.

For sure, it’s no Alfa Romeo, but it has plenty of character and when it was initially introduced almost a quarter of a century ago, it turned a lot of heads with its futuristic yet elegant exterior styling, courtesy of Giorgetto Giugiaro of ItalDesign.

The interior was more banal and in line with other Subaru products of the time, but that “aircraft-inspired glass-to-glass canopy” still looks the part today.

Nowadays, good examples are fairly hard to come by, which is why we’re sharing with you this nicely preserved 1992 model with just over 46,000 miles (74,000 km). It has a 231hp 3.3-liter flat-six connected to a 4-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.

The seller is asking $15,000 for it on eBay.
