While the MINI Superleggera Vision Concept is an all-electric answer to the Mazda MX-5, this digitally created coupe version of the same car would have a much broader swathe of adversaries to deal with, from the Toyonbaru trio, to the Peugeot RCZ and whatever Nissan makes based on the IDx concepts, to name a few.

Like in the case of the Jaguar F-Type, the addition of a roof makes the shape instantly more attractive to more people, and it aids handling and weight reduction, as you already know.

Looking at it differently, it’s a far better looking MINI Coupe than the first MINI Coupe, the car that tried to popularize the reverse-baseball cap look and failed.

Sadly, there’s no word on production of either the trop top or a fixed top alternative. Which would you have: roof or no roof?
