Volkswagen is plotting a redesign for its popular Caddy small van range that’s available in both commercial and passenger variants. While we’ve seen prototypes before, this time, our spies in Germany had a first nose inside the 2015 (or 2016) Caddy.

What they saw is a revised dashboard design influenced by VW’s latest models with an edgier cowl over the familiar set of gauges in front of the driver, rectangular instead of round air outlets and new controls placed higher on the center console.

The heavy-handed covering of camouflage gives us an idea of where the exterior styling changes will take place. Besides the reworked front and rear ends, the tester also sported a different corner cut for the small side window behind the A-pillar.

It is believed that VW will proceed to changes under the hood as well, offering engines with improved fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions.
