It appears that previous reports regarding the 2015 Chevrolet SS were spot on, as GM’s fleet order guide website has listed new features for its performance sedan for the 2015 model year.

The big news is GM has listened to enthusiasts and has decided to offer the SS with an optional six-speed manual transmission with a 3.70 rear axle ratio. The manual gearbox will no doubt be appreciated by those who thought the standard six-speed automatic is not fast enough for the car.

The 2014 Chevrolet SS fitted with the six-speed auto sprints from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.6 seconds, but with a manual gearbox the acceleration is expected to improve.

Another big addition for 2015 is the Magnetic Selective Ride Control system, which will be offered as standard equipment. This means the 2015 Chevrolet SS ditches the low-tech springs for modern technology that continuously adjusts the dampers to suit driving conditions. Currently offered on the Camaro ZL1, Cadillac CTS Vsport and Corvette Stingray, the Magnetic Selective Ride Control system will most likely improve the SS’ handling capabilities.

Other new features for the 2015 are five new body colors (Regal Peacock Green, Some Like It Hot Red, Jungle Green Metallic, Perfect Blue and Alchemy Purple), as well as the OnStar with 4G LTE infotainment system offered as standard which provides a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot to connect to the internet at 4G LTE speeds. Also standard is the OnStar Basic plan for 5 years, including RemoteLink Key Fob Services, OnStar Vehicle Diagnostics and Dealer Maintenance Notification.
