Arguably the smallest convertible on the planet – at least this side of a topless golf cart – the Smart Fortwo Cabrio is currently still in production in second generation form. However, this will not keep on going for long now that the third generations of the Fortwo with a fixed roof have been unveiled.

Despite the fact that it hasn’t been officially confirmed as of yet, nor any pre-production prototypes have been spied so far, we do know that the third fortwo will also get a drop-top variant, and so does “automotive manipulator” Theophilus Chin.

With that in mind, the Photoshop artist decided to give us a sneak preview of how the Smart Fortwo Cabrio III may end up looking, and judging by the look of the earlier generations, it seems that Theophilus could very well be dead on the money.

It is expected that the all-new Smart Fortwo Cabrio will be launched at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and will most definitely retain the electrically-operated soft-top of its current predecessor.

Compared with the current one, the major differences will be the same encountered by the fixed-roof variant, which means that the new car will also have a record-breaking turning circle of just 6.95 meters (22.8 feet) and an array of three-cylinder engines with an output spanning from 71 hp to 90 hp – plus a Brabus tuned variant that is yet to be revealed.
