BMW has given Japan another special edition version named the Z4 sDrive 20i GT, which was made to commemorate the Z4 GT3’s 1-2 finish in the opening round of the 2014 Super GT racing series.

Whereas the Z4 GT3 racer uses a V8 engine, the limited edition Z4 sDrive 20i GT of which only 60 copies will be built exclusively for Japan, keeps the base model’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four rated at 184PS (181hp) and linked to an 8sp auto that accelerates the hardtop roadster from zero to 100km/h (62mph) in 6.9 seconds.

Where it differs from the regular sDrive 20i is the equipment and colors with the GT offered in an Alpine white exterior paint with M stripes extending from the front bumper to just over the edge of the hood.

It also gets the M Sport package with 19-inch wheels wrapped in 225/35 tires at the front and 255/30 at the back, and an Interior Design package that dresses the cabin in a combination of leather and Alcantara with orange stitching, an aluminum pedal set and Metal Weave trim.

Prices in Japan start from ¥ 6,090,000, equal to around US$59,800 and €43,800.
