Warning: Some viewers may find the content of the video disturbing

It sounds like a cliché to say this scene came straight out of an action-thriller movie, but for the City Heights, San Diego family who was carjacked on Sunday afternoon (July 13, 2014), it truly was an unbelievably terrifying moment. Thanks to a number of good Samaritans, though, it all ended well.

Details remain scarce at the moment, but from what we understand, the suspect carjacked the Dodge Caravan with a woman and children inside, but bystanders jumped in and stopped the man at a parking lot, violently dragging him out of the vehicle before police arrived and arrested him.

At some point in the video, we hear one of the bystanders asking what happened, with one of the men replying that he “carjacked” the minivan “with the kids and the lady, and then he’s f$$%..ing bragging like this is my first time”.

The YouTube uploader described the incident thusly:

“Guy tries to jack a car with women and children. Community members jump in to help the women grabbing the keys out of carjacker’s hands pulling him out of the car, while police are called, when carjacker tries to get away he is brought down and held there till police arrived, Carjacker was taken into custody. Women and children were checked out by EMT, seemed shaken up but no physical injuries.”

The unbelievable scene was recorded on film, which you can watch for yourself below.
