America may get another serious contender in the world of super saloons, as Dodge may be looking to release a Hellcat variant of its four-door Charger. Chrysler execs had reportedly previously dropped hints that their new supercharged Hemi V8’s use would not be limited to the Challenger, and that a Charger powered by the unit would debut in July.

Well, now it’s July and we’ve only seen the 707 hp Challenger Hellcat (pictured) so far, though the Charger sedan has been recently updated, so it is a plausible candidate to receive it.

Autoguide speculates that the Charger Hellcat, with the same engine and power output, could debut this fall, instantly becoming the most powerful production sedan in the world.

Hopefully, this turns out to be true and they go ahead with it – the result will probably be one of the scariest cars on sale anywhere; we mean that in a good way…
