What a name: Mitsubishi Shogun (aka Pajero / Montero) Barbarian – it can’t get manlier than that and it certainly looks the part too when opted with the Black Pearl paint finish featured on the display model in the single (why so stingy Mitsu?) press photo.

The new Barbarian model is the range-topping edition of the Shogun SWB (short-wheelbase) and it sits above the Warrior version adding a handful of extra specification such as 20-inch gloss black and silver-colored Le Mans alloys, L200 Barbarian style leather interior with carbon inserts, a DAB digital radio, color-coded spare wheel cover and alloy pedals.

We don’t know why you’d choose a different color other than the pearlescent black, but if you do, your options include a solid Frost White, a metallic Eiger Grey and a metallic Cool silver.

On-the-road prices start from £31,999 in the UK.

Pricing:

  • Shogun SWB Barbarian Manual = £31,999
  • Shogun SWB Barbarian Auto = £33,684
  • Shogun SWB Barbarian Commercial Manual = £33,449
  • Shogun SWB Barbarian Commercial Auto = £35,134
