See 685HP Opel Kadett Take on Ferrari 458 Italia, Porsche 911 Turbo and Yamaha R1

Some people call them “sleepers”, while others call them “Q-cars” or “quiet cars”, but no matter their nomenclature, they bring the most smiles and drop the biggest amount of jaws when they appear on a drag strip.

In essence, they are monsters that look just like an ordinary beater car on the outside – with no modifications whatsoever – and yet have the performance to put actual sports cars to shame.

A perfect example of such a vehicle is most definitely the Opel Kadett in the following video, a downright hellspawn of a car that looks like a grand and goes like a million.

Created by the Germans from WKT, the car sports a two-liter four-cylinder engine with a turbocharger the size of a large watermelon, which apparently works at maximum boost of 2.45 bar (35.5 psi).

The result is 685 hp and an undisclosed torque figure, with which the car becomes a hard to beat contender in any type of drag race from a roll, as the footage below clearly shows. The first race is against a Ferrari 458 Special with a Capristo exhaust, which the little Kadett from hell manages to obliterate in a straight line.

A Porsche 911 Turbo of the 997 variety, which is also tuned to 660 hp, puts up a bit of a fight but the Kadett still wins by a hair, while the Yamaha R1 in the end is the only competitor that manages to beat this wolf in sheep’s clothing.

There are no official acceleration times for the car, apart from the fact that it can allegedly go from 100 km/h to 200 km/h (62 mph -124 mph) in just 4.57 seconds, while the 100 km/h to 250 km/h (62 mph – 155 mph) time sits at an unbelievable 8.26 seconds.
