Dutch sports car manufacturer Spyker was very close to lose an important part of its assets after tax authorities seized them and arranged for them to be sold at an online auction.

The auction was supposed to be organized by Troostwijk Auctions later this month and included several exclusive Spyker vehicles and parts. Among these, there were a 2007 Formula 1 car, a C8 racer, some new C8 Ailerons, a rare D12 Peking-to-Paris concept SUV (pictured), as well as 85 Audi V8 engines and transmissions.

As you probably guessed, the proceeds from the auction were to be used to pay Spyker’s debts to the Dutch tax authorities. However, Spyker denied being bankrupt and told Autoblog.nl that they were working on a solution to avoid the loss of its assets.

Apparently, they made it, as Spyker CEO Victor Muller announced that the issue has been resolved and the auction was cancelled. Troostwijk Auctions also confirmed that the auction has been withdrawn.

However, Spyker’s debt to the Netherlands’ IRS and the amount the company paid to suspend the auction remain unknown. Let’s just hope Spyker has enough money left in the bank to build the gorgeous B6 Venator Concept, both in Coupe and Spyder form.
