The 508 is as close to a flop as Peugeot has come with any of its models, in recent years, being an uninteresting and unremarkable car that’s just okay to drive and marginally nice to look at.

Remove the lion badges and you could be forgiven for thinking it’s some sort of Kia from 2005, or something not at all French, either way.

This is a disappointment, since Peugeot can make and has made much more desirable family oriented sedans in the past, though from the perfectly proportioned 406 onward, it’s really been all downhill for them. The 508 is the first modern sedan to bear the lion badge that doesn’t also come as a coupe, but that was fixed via photo editing by AutoProjecoes.

The resulting coupe is okay, but even if Peugeot had made it, nobody (or very few) would have considered it, opting either for one of the slightly more expensive German alternatives or the much prettier and slightly better to drive Renault Laguna Coupe, a car that could sell based on looks alone – a 508 two-door couldn’t.
