Alongside the RS 01 racer, Renault released the new generation Sandero and Sandero Stepway for the Russian market at the Moscow International Auto Salon.

Based on the second generation Dacia Sandero, the two models feature Renault-specific design details such as the redesigned grille featuring the big rhombus, as well as a refreshed front bumper. There are no differences at the rear end, except the new badge.

As with the Dacia-branded model, the Renault Sandero Stepway features a more rugged-looking bodywork and a raised ground clearance of 195 mm (7.7 in).

The new Renault Sandero and Sandero Stepway for Russia also feature slightly different bumpers to the models launched in Ukraine a year ago.

Sales of the new Sandero will start on September 4 in Russia at a starting price of 380,000 roubles (€7,880) for the base model featuring the 75hp 1.2-liter gasoline engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
A 102hp 1.6-liter gasoline engine is also available, offered as standard with a five-speed transmission and optionally with a four-speed automatic gearbox.

The Renault Sandero and Sandero Stepway will be built at Avtovaz’s second plant in Togliatti, alongside the second-generation Renault Logan.
