Here’s a hint: it’s an upcoming hybrid model, a prototype of which burnt to the ground after running a few hotter than expected laps around the Nordschleife in July.

Yep, it’s the next Acura / Honda NSX that has returned to the scene of the crime, hopefully without any of the glitches that led to the fiery mishap.

If all goes according to the Japanese firm’s plans, we should see the final production model within the next few months with sales to start by mid-2015 – yes, we’re that close to launch.

The second iteration of the NSX keeps the original model’s mid-ship engine arrangement, but instead of an atmospheric V6 driving the rear wheels, it has a hybrid powertrain comprising a twin-turbo V6 and an electric motor powering the rear wheels, and a pair of electric motors for each front wheel. Total system output is expected to be well over 400 horses.

H/T to Cvdzijden for the video!
