Land Rover displayed its spanking new Discovery Sport in an eye-catching orange hue at the Paris Auto Show.

The successor to the Freelander (LR2) goes on sale in the second quarter of next year with a starting price of $37,995 plus a $925 delivery fee in the United States, and from £30,000 in the UK.

It places a lot of emphasis on practicality and space, offering a 5+2 seating layout. At 4,590mm long, it’s 91mm longer overall than the Freelander, while also featuring a 81mm longer wheelbase for improved passenger space.

North American consumers will only get a 240hp 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine linked to a 9-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive.
In Europe, Land Rover will also offer a 187hp (190PS) 2.2-litre turbodiesel feature stop-start technology, AWD and either a 9sp auto or a 6sp manual, and a more frugal 150hp ED4 diesel with front-wheel drive.
