Mazda is the latest automaker to jump on the small SUV bandwagon with the Japanese firm to debut the all-new CX-3 at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

Believed to share its underpinnings and possibly, engine range as well, with the new Mazda2 sub-compact, the CX-3 will launch next year competing against a growing army of similarly sized SUVs like the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (ASX), Nissan Juke, Suzuki Vitara, Jeep Renegade, Fiat 500X and Honda HR-V.

Mazda teased the CX-3 through a rather overly optimistic sketch while adding that it will feature the brand’s signature ‘KODO-Soul of Motion’ design language “evolved to produce a sharper form with an enhanced sense of speed”.

Like all new Mazdas, the CX-3 will come with a full range of SKYACTIV technologies, though, we’ll have to wait for a full release to see what that means in regards to powertrain options and such.
