Infiniti will give the US its first look at the Q80 Inspiration Concept at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show this week, following its world premiere in Paris last month.

The Q80 Inspiration Concept has a dual purpose, the first being to preview a production model that will be added to the top of Infiniti’s range within the next “three to five years” as a Porsche Panamera and Mercedes-Benz CLS fighter, and the second to signal a sportier styling direction for future products.

The 5,060mm (199.2 inches) long fastback model also introduces a new hybrid powerplant that pairs a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine to an electric motor churning out a combined 550 horsepower. A variation of this engine could be used in the next Nissan GT-R.

Joining the concept at Infiniti’s LA show stand will be the 2015 QX80 full-size SUV (it originally debuted in New York) in the special Limited edition trim that sports unique styling features like the dark chrome 22-inch wheels and trim, plus added equipment.
