Eleven motoring journalists were invited by Ferrari to a special F12berlinetta track day at its Fiorano private circuit in Maranello. With assistance from Ferrari’s engineers and team test drivers, journalists were given the opportunity to push themselves and the 740hp supercar to the limit, learning to exploit the F12’s performance to clock fast laps.

After journalists finished their laps, they were surprised by Scuderia Ferrari driver Kimi Räikkönen, who arrived at the track to show them how the F12berlinetta should be driven with all various dynamic controls switched off. It’s not every day that one is given a ride by a former Formula 1 World Champion, so you can imagine it was an pretty interesting experience.

Curious to see how it is to ride with Kimi Räikkönen in the F12berlinetta at speeds of up to 240 km/h (149 mph) on the Fiorano circuit? You can find out by watching the following onboard footage courtesy of Auto Express. There’s also a second video from Ferrari that covers the event.
