Over the past year, Volvo Trucks has unleashed a very successful marketing campaign to highlight the brand’s new technologies with a series of entertaining spots that often put automakers’ ads to shame.
These have included the widely acclaimed “The Epic Split” starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, “The Hamster Stunt” and “The Casino” prank.
On November 11, 2014, it will release a new spot named “Volvo Trucks vs Koenigsegg” in which motoring journalist and presenter of the British TV series Fifth Gear, Tiff Needell, will get behind the wheel of a Volvo FH truck and race a Koenigsegg One:1 at the Ring Knutstorp track in southern Sweden.
The goal here is to present Volvo Truck’s new “sports car technology-based” I-Shift Dual Clutch transmission to the test against one of the world’s fastest supercars.
“Matching a Volvo FH against Koenigsegg One:1 is the perfect challenge to see if our newly launched I-Shift Dual Clutch transmission lives up to expectations in terms of driveability and driving comfort that comes with seamless gear shifting,” says Per Nilsson, PR Director at Volvo Trucks.
