There aren’t many B-segment wagons on sale today and the few that exist are mostly offered in Europe.

The Renault Clio Estate, Seat Ibiza ST and new Skoda Fabia Combi are the first models that spring to mind, but what would you say if Mazda had a go at this segment with the new Mazda2?

Photoshop ace Theophilus Chin imagined what a Mazda2 Estate would look like and the result isn’t half bad. Building on the styling of the recently unveiled Mazda2 Sedan, he converted the car’s rear quarter into a wagon in a pretty convincing manner.

The black-painted B-, C- and D-pillars give the impression of a floating roof, an idea probably taken from the Renault Clio Estate. However, this will most likely remain just an exercise of imagination, as there is no precedent for an estate in the Mazda2’s history.

Furthermore, there’s hasn’t been a Mazda3 wagon either, which makes is highly unlikely for the Japanese carmaker to build a small estate instead of a more profitable compact model.
