Keep saying goodbye to physical gauges in your car, as more companies are going towards fully configurable instrument panels.

This is the QNX Technology Maserati Concept Car, being shown Tuesday at CES 2015. It’s based off of a 2015 Maserati Quattroporte GTS, but with all of its traditional dials removed and a new digital cluster done by Rightware – the people behind the 2015 Audi TT‘s digital dash shown at last year’s CES.

Like the Audi Virtual Cockpit, this system on this Quattroporte uses Rightware’s Kanzi software. But QNX says it’s been designed this time to use Maserati’s design themes from the original dash they ripped out.

This next-generation system is also said to feature ambient lighting for warnings, speed recommendations, curve warnings and forward collision monitoring, as well as support for media features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Oh, and QNX says the system already works even though it was developed in three weeks.

So expect more fully digital instrument panels coming in the next few years, and not just from VW Group cars. There’s no word yet on when or if this system is going in a Maserati, but it shows how quickly and easily it can be done.
