Ladies and gents, this is a drag race worth its money, and we mean that both metaphorically and literally. How often is it that you see two hypercars costing more than a million bucks racing each other?

In particular, have you seen a Bugatti Veyron going head-to-head with a Ferrari LaFerrari? With total production of both being under 900 units, and most owners treating them as the crown jewels in their collection, we bet the answer is most likely “not”.

If this were a Top Trumps, the Bugatti would win with one hand tied behind its back. See, the 1,001PS (987hp) and colossal 1,250 Nm (922 lbft) pumped out by the 8-liter, quad-turbocharged 16-cylinder surely beat the hybrid Ferrari’s combined output of 963PS (950hp) and puny (…) 900 Nm (664 lb-ft). Plus, the fastest car in the world is all-wheel drive while the red challenger is rear-wheel drive only.

Ah, but there is a catch: the Veyron weighs a massive 1,888 kg (4,162 lb), which makes the 1,255 kg (2,767 lb) LaFerrari seem like a lightweight. This evens the odds a little, don’t you think?

So, when the two opponents line up for a quarter mile drag race, it makes for an interesting fight. No spoilers here; you will have to see for yourself who comes out on top, right after the jump.
