The all-new Ford GT is the undisputed star of the 2015 Detroit Auto Show and that is easy to see judging from our readers’ huge appetite for posts about the new supercar.

While some have expressed disappointment that Ford has gone from a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 to a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine, the reality is that the new unit will be significantly more powerful than the engine of the first-generation model.

While the 2005 Ford GT’s V8 generated 550hp and 500lb-ft (678Nm) of torque, the new model promises more than 600hp – the exact number remains a mystery for now.

But what’s equally important for enthusiasts is the sound of the engine, and in this respect the six-cylinder unit doesn’t disappoint at all – at least at startup. YouTuber Shmee150 captured the Ford GT on video backstage at the Detroit Auto Show as the engine was turned on to move the car to another location.
