If you bought a VW Polo in the last few months, you may be kicking yourself for not having waited for the all-new Skoda Fabia to go on sale. It’s more modern than its VW brethren and according to this review by WhatCar magazine, there’s little not to like about it.

Firstly, it’s the second tallest car in its class, after the Honda Jazz/Fit, and its shape is noticeably square. This translates into a roomy passenger compartment big enough to carry at least two adults in the back, if not three at a squeeze.

The engine range is all-VW, and the best unit to go for we say is the 1.2-liter TSI 90 PS. I had a chance to try out the engine in the latest (facelifted) Polo and it proved excellent both in town, as well as B-roads and motorways too.
