Citroen Updates DS4 Engine Range, adds New Touchscreen Infotainment

After adding two more engines to the DS4’s range back in November, the PureTech 130 S&S three-cylinder petrol and the BlueHDi 120 four-cylinder diesel, Citroen is expanding it even more in early 2015.

The French automaker has just announced more available power plants for the DS4, along with the addition of more desirable new tech.

The new engines are the THP 165 S&S EAT6 (petrol turbo with six-speed automatic gearbox), the BlueHDi (diesel) S&S 150 6-speed manual and the BlueHDi S&S 180 EAT6 (diesel, six-speed auto).

Torque ratings for the new engines range from 240 Nm (for the petrol) up to 400 Nm for the 180 PS diesel, while Citroen promises that the former is “a standard-setter in fuel economy and CO2 emissions.”

It has a claimed average consumption figure of 5.5 l/100km in conjunction with the six-speed auto. On paper, it’s 29 percent more efficient than the THP 160 it replaces.

The tech front is updated via a touchscreen infotainment system (which they show no photos of…). The touch-sensitive screen measures seven inches in diameter and it allows access to all major functions while also contributing to “improving cabin ergonomics,” according to the automaker.
