Germany’s Borgward was an automobile manufacturer that was active between the years of 1890 and 1963 when it went bankrupt. Now, with the grandson of the founder, Christian Borgward, at the helm, the brand is announcing its return.

The company says it will announce its “exciting plans” on March 3rd, at the Geneva motor show, but it may be a retro coupe judging by the outline shown at the end of the video posted below.

Christian Borward said in the official press release that “Relaunching Borgward is a childhood dream come true for me. We began shaping and designing the future of Borgward nearly ten years ago and are now ready for the next step. Incorporating the values and cutting-edge technologies that Borgward stood for, combined with our ambition, drive and commitment to succeed, I believe we are now perfectly placed to open up this new chapter in Borgward’s history.”

Stay tuned for more – this announcement is definitely an unusual one that has us intrigued. We’re curious what they have drawn up.
