Contract manufacturer Magna Steyr will unveil a plug-in hybrid sports car concept at the Geneva Motor Show called MILA Plus.

The company says the innovative two-seater sports car combines “intelligent lightweight construction, an alternative drive and emotional design.” As a result, the eighth concept vehicle of the MILA innovation family brings together high performance with eco-friendliness.

The car has an aluminum frame with integrated batteries and tips the scales at 1,520 kg (3,351 lbs). The hybrid powertrain consists of a a 3-cylinder petrol engine and two electric motors, one for each axle.

While no power figures are available, Magna Steyr says the MILA Plus is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds in hybrid mode, and from 0 to 80 km/h (50 mph) in 3.6 seconds in all-electric mode.

The MILA Plus study is said to deliver a total driving range of around 500 km (310 miles), including more than 70 km (43.5 miles) in all-electric mode. Average CO2 emissions are estimated at just 32g/km.

No other details were offered, but we’ll definitely learn more in the following days as we get closer to the concept’s debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
