This year marks the 60th anniversary of Mercedes’ Mille Miglia win with the 300 SLR driven by Stirling Moss assisted by navigator Denis Jenkinson, but that’s not Mercedes’ only victory from that race.

During the same race, a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL with racing number 417 won its class in the hands of the Fitch / Gesell crew, and it’s for this breakthrough that the automaker will release a new special edition package.

The Mercedes-Benz SL 417 Mille Miglia special edition package will debut at the Geneva Motor Show early next month with a series of aesthetic upgrades. From a styling point of view, the special edition models get exterior and interior upgrades including a bootlid spoiler, red and matte carbon accents, as well as AMG 19-inch (front) and 20-inch (rear) wheels.

The Mercedes-Benz SL 417 Mille Miglia will be offered with two engine versions: the SL 400 333PS biturbo V6 and the SL 500 455PS biturbo V8. While the engine options are standard, the SL 417 gets adaptive dampers for more stability in corners, as well as the optional ABC (Active Body Control) system.

The 417 Mille Miglia package is priced at €14,000 for the V6 version and €12,800 for the V8 (in Germany).
