Get a better look at Mercedes-AMG’s new GT3 racer through these new photos that surfaced online ahead of the car’s Geneva Motor Show world premiere.

It’s a visually striking racing model with a wider body than the GT that it’s based on along with some serious aerodynamic aids like the huge rear wing.

The interior has been rethought as well to comply with the needs and requirements of the FIA GT3 series, sporting a roll cage, a bucket seat with a carbon fiber back, and race-spec steering wheel and instrument panel.

The AMG GT3’s technical specifications haven’t been officially announced yet, but French site Lepoint claims that instead of the production car’s 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8, the racing model will borrow the older SLS AMG GT3’s 6.3-liter V8 mill. We’ll know for sure in the coming days.

It’s worth adding that Mercedes-AMG boss Tobias Moers has hinted at a road-going production version of the racer for the AMG GT series with the GT3 moniker, which would be aimed directly at Porsche’s 911 GT3.
