This recent video posted by Subaru showcases their trusted travel companion, the STARLINK System. It comes with Pandora app integration as well as other multimedia content, for both iOS as well as Android devices.

It’s hard to buy a new car nowadays without hearing about how impressive its infotainment system is, or how logical and quick the user interface works and so on. Subaru’s STARLINK puts the news, weather, music and pretty much anything else you’d like to listen to while driving, at your disposal.

In a sense it’s no different from other similar systems, but after watching the clip and reading more about it, we’re not exactly sure this is a faster or smarter alternative compared to what you get from other car makers.

As for voice control, it rarely works as seamless as it did in the video. And we’re not sure it reading those incoming text messages out loud. It sounds like a girly Stephen Hawking. Still, not a lot going on with Subaru lately, so at least they’re trying to keep us from forgetting about them.

Certain future STARLINK updates such as Sirius XM Connected Vehicle Services will be featured on select 2016 US-market Subaru models, while right now, the app is available on the 2015 Legacy, 2015 Outback, 2015 Impreza, 2015 XV Crosstrek and 2015 XV Crosstrek Hybrid models.
