If you’ve missed episode three of Top Gear’s latest UK season, fear not, it was about the lads attempting to build a couple of fast ambulances. Yes, it all went wrong, as always.

Still, the ambulances made their way into the Beaulieu Motor Museum’s World of Top Gear exhibit where they can now be put to rest next to other TG creations from some of their most ambitious (and irrelevant) challenges.

Watching the guys try their hand at making the generic ambulance obsolete was pretty fun, and James May turning up in a Ford Scorpio Cardinal hearse was both morbid and hilarious. Hammond went and got himself an A-TEAM worthy Chevrolet G20 van, while Clarkson tried to make a rather ambitious “sports ambulance” out of a Porsche 944 Turbo.

Overall, the episode wasn’t one of their best, probably because Top Gear fans usually want to watch the latest and greatest cars being reviewed, instead of silly challenges which are obviously scripted and with very little improvised humor. However we did get to see Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo become the fastest F1 driver to ever do a lap in the Suzuki Liana.

Still, taking matters into your own hands and building an ambulance out of something that was never meant to be one, can be very interesting. These three cars really do deserve to be “retired” the right way.
