Now that VW has unveiled the new Passat Alltrack, it’s time for Photoshop manipulators to have some fun and invent new versions of the German D-segment model.

Inspired by Volvo and its S60 Cross Country, Theophilus Chin has applied the Alltrack treatment to the VW Passat four-door, turning it into a high-riding sedan. An Alltrack version of the VW Passat sedan will probably not happen, unless Volvo strikes it big with the S60 Cross Country.

While most of us struggle to find the logic of producing a crossover-flavored sedan, let’s not forget that similar discussions took place when BMW launched the X6.

A high-riding sedan may prove successful in emerging markets with a neglected road infrastructure. In many of these markets, people aren’t big fans of estates and would probably be interested in a sedan with a raised ground clearance.
