After selling no fewer than 142,154 cars in January this year, the BMW Group did even better in February, delivering a total of 151,952 vehicles, an increase of 7,6% compared to the same month last year.

Overall, this has been the BMW Group’s best-ever month of February, with BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce selling in record breaking numbers.

Speaking of records, their first two months of the year have signaled an increase of 7.3% over the same period back in 2014 (294,112 Jan-Feb 2015 vs. 274,113 Jan-Feb 2014), which is very impressive.

BMW Sales & Marketing Exec Ian Robertson stated “I am confident that our fresh model line-up, including the brand new BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer and the updated BMW 1 Series we’ve just premiered at the Geneva Motor Show, will provide the momentum to keep us growing in 2015.”

Indeed, BMW sold over 5,360 units of the 2 Series Gran Tourer worldwide in the first two months, with further growths registering for other models such as the 4 Series, X4, X5 and X6.

As for their ‘i‘ models, BMW sold 2,165 units in February (1,824 i3s and 341 i8s). Curiously, this totals a higher number than last month, and while the i3 has reached more customers, i8 sales have dipped slightly.

Looking at Europe, BMW and MINI deliveries have increased by 7.0% in February, with 64,685 units sold. Germany, Italy and Great Britain continue to be some of BMW’s largest markets in the region, while across the pond, sales in the Americas have also continued their strong start to the year.

BMW and MINI North American customers received a total of 28,921 new cars, whereas Canada saw 2,692 vehicles sold.

In Asia, customer deliveries are also higher than in the same period last year, with February sales up 4.1%. There were also no fewer than 31,089 BMW and MINI sales in Mainland China.

Taking into account only BMW models (of which the Group sold 131,416 worldwide in February) the number would still be greater than what Audi and Mercedes-Benz managed to do last month.
