Renault Sport has released the first video teaser of the upcoming Sandero RS, the performance version of the no-frills hatchback sold under the Dacia badge in Europe.

Since this is a Renault-branded vehicle, we won’t see it in Europe, as the Sandero is sold in the European Union and North Africa as a Dacia. The countries which will get it are emerging markets such as Russia and Brazil, to name only the most significant of them. Still, Europe will also get a hot Dacia Sandero as spy shots have recently shown.

For the moment, Renault Sport remains quiet about the Sandero RS and the video doesn’t reveal much either. The only new design detail we’re allowed to see are the LED daytime running lights. As for the engine, it could be a tuned version of the 101hp 1.6-liter petrol offered on the Sandero in Russia or the 143hp 2.0-liter 16V offered in the Renault Duster in Brazil.
