Tesla Model S P85D Finally Takes on Challenger Hellcat in 1/4 Mile Drag Race

This is it people; we’ve waited for the Hellcat and the P85D to meet on the drag strip ever since both models became internet sensations.

In terms of duels, this is as big as it gets. It’s a Neo vs. Agent Smith type of thing – or for you kids out there who don’t remember the Matrix movies, think of it as a Vin Diesel vs. The Rock battle.

Even though there was a previous run two months ago when the Hellcat went up against the Tesla, it ended in tears as the Dodge just couldn’t get any traction off the line and so it wasn’t really a race. Now we have both car roaring and ready to go. The Challenger is even wearing drag radials.

However, will that be enough to help it keep up with the P85D’s galaxy-sized instant torque off the line? We’re not giving anything away, so you’ll have to watch the video in order to see who won and how the cars matched up against each other, both off the line as well as crossing the 1/4 mile mark.

If we were to give anything away, it would be that the race is very close so from that perspective you’ll definitely not be disappointed.

Just to recap, the Hellcat packs 707 HP while the P85D has 691 HP and even more torque than the Challenger. And that’s something few cars can pride themselves with.
