You might ask yourself why Ignition took the time to test a Gremlin in their latest episode. Like you, we had the same question floating in our heads.

The only solid reason appears to be the day that this little car debuted which was April 1st, 1970. This means that this year the AMC Gremlin celebrates 45 years since it first became available for the public. Needless to say it wasn’t an April Fools prank. Or was it?

The Gremlin came from a time the American manufacturers wanted to offer more compact and economic cars to the buyers during the oil crisis of the ‘70s, signifying a period of charming but not so great cars.

This specific Gremlin though has clearly seen some better days and watching it attempt to run through the figure-8 test was entertaining to say the least. And this is the core of this Ignition episode; car videos do not need a fast car to be fun to watch.
