BMW’s 6 Series GC Will Impress You Even As You’re Leaving Orbit

After comparing their 6 Series Gran Coupe to a reward that people receive after working hard for a living, BMW is at it again, only this time suggesting that the GC will leave you in awe no matter where you work.

In this instance, the workplace is none other than NASA and the profession is ‘Astronaut’. While this may not mean that astronauts will go out of their way to purchase a 6 Series Gran Coupe, they might appreciate it for the way it looks and the ways in which it performs.

Naturally, BMW USA had to take it all the way with this spot, making it look like the astronaut has nothing better to do while being launched into space (especially right after takeoff) than stare outside of his window and admire a car kicking up dirt in the distance.

Yes, there’s no way that guy saw what type of car it was from that far away, but let’s not focus too much on the lack of realism, since that’s not what this spot is about.

Overall, it is a nice touch to first have the kid that’s traveling in the car be in awe of the space shuttle launching into orbit, and then have one of the astronauts mirror the kid’s sentiments.

And why not? The Gran Coupe is an exceptional car with an exceptionally imposing price tag. In the U.S you can get an “entry-level” 640i Gran Coupe for $78,800 MSRP, while $3,000 extra will net you the xDrive version of the same model.

The 650i & 650i xDrive GC cost $90,100 and $93,100 respectively but the most appealing versions are no doubt the $116,200, 560 HP M6 Gran Coupe and the $117,300, 600 HP ALPINA B6 xDrive Gran Coupe.

You should be able to lease any one of those models on an astronaut’s salary. Just saying.
