There are plenty of alternatives for people who don’t want to buy a car that everyone else has. And no, I’m not talking about expensive cars here. The mid-size segment in Europe offers quite a few variants.

Everyone wants premium models like the BMW 3-Series or at least near premium like the VW Passat, but people forget there are quite a few competent models way rarer that the aforementioned models.

Take the Citroën C5, for example. Launched in 2008, it is nearing the end of its life cycle, but it remains an interesting option in the D-segment, as Carbuyer’s Ginny Buckley found out during a test drive.
