Whoever said that dash-cams are only good for accidents, road rage incidents, and insurance frauds?

They are perfectly fine for grabbing scoops as well, as reader Jean-Luc can attest with this short video of a Bentley Bentayga prototype that he caught near the firm’s headquarters in Crew, England.

“I am not a huge 4×4 fan personally, and I do think it looks a little too ‘Touareg’!,” Jean-Luc told us. “I am not convinced this is the right move for Bentley, no doubt something imposed by VW for higher Volume!”

Well, you can say that again Jean Luc, but we guess Bentley is going with the times, just like their archrivals at Rolls Royce that are also planning an SUV of their own.

Bentley’s super-luxurious SUV will be made at the brand’s factory in Crewe starting from next year. It will share a platform with the Audi Q7 offering 6.0-liter W12 and 4.0-liter V8 petrol units, a plug-in hybrid variant and possibly even a diesel unit.

Thanks to Jean-Luc for the scoop!
