Ford may be using the Shelby name on the new GT350 and GT350R Mustangs, but the company founded by Carroll Shelby carries on with its own projects, the latest of which is the 2015 Super Snake, its most extreme take on the new Mustang.

And super it should be indeed, as Shelby American says the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine produces more than 750 horsepower with the optional 750+ HP package. Based on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT, the new Super Snake features a series of Ford Performance parts including a supercharger that boosts the engine to more than 650hp, an exhaust with Shelby tips, handling pack, as well as a short throw shifter.

Other performance upgrades include Shelby Wilwood six-piston front brakes, Shelby Performance cooling pack, Weld Racing one-piece Super Snake 20-inch forged wheels and more. All these technical upgrades, plus the aggressive aerodynamic kit with carbon fiber components and Super Snake striping and badging cost $49,999.

For those who want even more performance, Shelby American offers the optional 750+ HP package which features Whipple 750+ or Kenne Bell 750+ superchargers, upgraded cooling package, differential cooling, transmission cooling, Shelby Wilwood four-piston rear brakes, brake duct kit and one-piece drive shaft. The 750+ HP package is priced from $54,999.

Customers can choose more optional features such as a Katzkin interior package, roll cage with 5-point harness or race seats, among other things. I can’t think of a better way to end this article than quoting Shelby American’s description of the Super Snake’s soundtrack: “If you wanted quiet, go to a library or buy a hybrid.” Enough said.
